Amanda Louis: House Music & LGBTQ+ Nightlife Icon
Amanda Louise is a Sydney-born DJ known internationally for her deep house, classic house, disco, and tech house sounds. She developed her passion for dance music while living abroad in London and soaking up underground scenes in Berlin, New York and Ibiza.
✈️ Amanda Louis Journey:
Amanda Louise’s obsession with the dance floor began half a world away from her current home. While living in London for several years, she immersed herself in the UK’s legendary club culture. It was during this time, traveling between the techno hubs of Berlin and the house meccas of Ibiza, that she developed her ear for the “House Fusion” sound she is known for today.
In 2010, she returned to her home base of Sydney, Australia, to master the craft of mixing. Her breakout moment came in 2013, when she was discovered by the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras and won the prestigious Spin Off DJ competition. That victory launched her onto the world stage, leading to a headline performance for a crowd of 60,000 people at Fair Day and an international tour that hit the decks in Berlin and NYC.
🎧 Early Life & Musical Beginnings:
Originally from Woollahra, Australia, Amanda’s love for deep house began with influences from legends like Frankie Knuckles and Danny Tenaglia. After cutting her teeth playing in underground circuits and private events, she built a sound that fuses classic house warmth with modern energy.
🏳️🌈 Why She Matters to LGBTQ+ Nightlife & Pride Events:
With decades of experience behind the decks, Amanda Louise has become a respected presence in gay nightlife culture and Pride event lineups across major cities. Her ability to fill dance floors with soulful house and bouncy rhythms makes her a go-to DJ for many LGBTQ+ parties, festivals, and nightlife institutions in the USA and abroad.
