Ralphi Rosario

Ralphi Rosario – Legendary House Music DJ, Producer & Remixer:

A Founding Father of House Music:

Ralphi Rosario is a Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, and remixer best known as one of the original members of the Hot Mix 5, the influential DJ crew on Chicago’s WBMX radio in the 1980s that helped define and globalize Chicago house music. With over four decades of experience behind the decks and in the studio, Rosario remains one of the most influential and respected figures in global dance music. Ralphi played a key role in bringing underground dance music to the mainstream—before it was even called house.

Defining the Sound of Chicago House:

Ralphi Rosario’s contribution to the house music genre is foundational. His 1987 track “You Used to Hold Me” featuring Xaviera Gold is considered one of the most important records in house history—a timeless anthem that still commands dance floors today.
Throughout his career, Rosario has maintained his roots in Chicago’s underground club scene, while expanding his sound to encompass tribal house, circuit beats, tech-house, and vocal-driven anthems that define major LGBTQ+ events around the world.

Global Remixer for the Biggest Names in Pop

Ralphi is not just a DJ—he’s a master remixer whose work has redefined the sound of pop and club music alike. His remix catalog includes official remixes for:

  • Madonna
  • Beyoncé

  • Christina Aguilera

  • Lady Gaga

In 2012, Rosario earned a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording for his explosive remix of Rihanna’s “Only Girl (In the World)” (with Craig J).
